MICKEY ROURKE
Throughout the years, Mickey Rourke has received awards from the Chicago Film Critics Association, the Irish Film and Television Awards, and the Online Film Critics Society for his lead role in the neo-noir crime thriller Sin City (2005). He also played a professional wrestler in the 2008 film The Wrestler, for which he gained a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and an Academy Award nomination.
However, before those achievements, Mickey was, in fact, a professional boxer. He appeared in various films like Diner (1982) and Rumble Fish (1983) during his acting heydays but went on hiatus in 1991. His return to acting saw him appear in the box-office films Iron Man 2 (2010), The Expendables (2010), and Immortals (2011). At 68, he still accepts castings and continuously appears in films. One of his latest appearances was during Fox’s The Masked Singer.
